The Street Legal series was designed to create affordable, friendly competition events without the need for a tow vehicle/trailer, dedicated racecar, or multiple person crew/team. You should be able to drive to the event, compete, and drive home in the same car, should you choose to. The course will be tight and technical, placing emphasis on driving skill with stylish cars rather than an abundance of horsepower and speed.
SCHEDULE:
New for 2021, the USDrift Street Legal will now take place at 4 different venues throughout 2021. The four events will take place at:
March 20 / Valley Stage / Shenandoah Speedway
June 5 / Mountain Stage / Summit Point Raceway
September 12 / Coastal Stage / Larry King Law’s Langley Speedway
November 20 / Inland Stage / Virginia Motorsports Park
APPLICATION / REGISTRATION:
Applications for the March 20th, Valley Stage at Shenandoah Speedway can be submitted via the following link: 2021 USDrift Street Legal Application - Valley Stage. It is free to apply. Applications will be accepted until the end of the day on Sunday, February 28th or until all 32 spots are filled.
Approved drivers will be sent a registration link based on their application status. The registration cost is $225 and includes one driver entry, one crew member entry, and a windshield banner.
FORMAT:
All USDrift Street Legal events will be one day events. There is a 32-driver limit per event. All events will have a practice session. There will be no qualifying, as we will be using a random lottery to create the bracket allowing more time for tandem practice. Tandem format will be a 32-car single elimination bracket, including a third-place battle. Judges TBD.
ELIGIBILITY:
Eligible participants must be at least 18 years old (16 years old with parental consent*) and possess a valid state issued driver's license. Because this is a tandem event, previous experience running tandem is required.
*A minor release form must be filled out and be on file with USDrift for 16 and 17 year old participants. All minor participants must have at least one parent or legal guardian present at all times during the event. Select individuals under the age of 16 years old that have been pre-approved by USDrift may be allowed to participate. For additional information, please contact info@usdrift.com.
RULEBOOK:
The rules are pretty basic and designed that way on purpose; therefore, the spirit of the rule will apply. If you are going to try and figure out a way to bend these rules, then this series is not meant for you. The rulebook can be found here.
